The Studio
Wildwood Studios is the result of the coming
together of two creative minds:
Jane Willmott a woodland manager and wildlife
conservationist and
Marcus Tiddy, a creative photographer and designer.
Their skills were learnt under the expert tuition
of renowned chairmaker Mike
Abbott and they take their inspiration from
John Brown and the St Fagans chair collection.

They developed a passion for stick back chairs,
chairs of a stunning simplicity traditionally
created from whatever wood was available at
the time. No two are the same.
The original pieces are now highly sought after
heirlooms that are now more likely to be found
retired to museums bearing the sign ‘please
do not sit on this chair’. Marcus &
Jane’s affinity for these chairs caused
them to go back to basics and recreate them
using traditional methods and tools. Now they
can once again be appreciated in a home, where
they should be, rather than languishing in a
museum.
Jane and Marcus have been making chairs to commission
for some years now and would be delighted to
discuss any ideas and styles you may have in
mind.
